nothing is more annoying than reading a poorly written email which was constructed by an adult.

The Mountains That Froze the World -- Berardelli 2009 (1103): 2 -- ScienceNOW

The rise of the Appalachians plunged Earth into an ice age so severe that it drove nearly two-thirds of all living species extinct. That’s the conclusion of a new study, which finds that the mountains’ rocks absorbed enough greenhouse gas to freeze the planet.

Reblogging to print out later…although it wouldn’t hurt anyone here to read it, I’m sure.

You know, I’ve been doing it with my boyfriend for over 2 years, and he still asks, “Can we have sex?” or something similar. I think it’s kinda hot.

I mean, it’s not like he needs his permission, or that I even told him to ask. It’s just one of the most polite and intimate things he says on a regular basis.

I Write. You Should Read.: You Got a Great Life: On The Road With American Fangs!!!

Gabe: We’ve performed in alot of cities but not on this scale…and by scale I mean, the people that are coming to these shows are there for the right reasons. Sometimes you get people at shows who text the whole time, or hang out on the wall. Not this tour. This tour is the AFRO PUNK TOUR!!! No parkin’ on the dance floor!

Hey, I got your FB invite about your arts at that coffee shop downtown (Go see her artwork @ MR Potters coffee 718 West Main Street Louisville KY 40202!)

I’m displaying mine at the Mighty Kindness Festival at Willow Park this Saturday from 11am - 5pm.

Oh and we’re doing that kickass afterparty with the Sirens that evening!!!

"National Gay Day"

kapi:

Fuck off.

Every day should be “National Gay Day”. By assigning just one day, it sort of trivialises the matter. The same way I think “Black History Month” is a twat-ish idea. Why can’t every day, every week, every month be what you want it to be?

Why do we feel the need to just ration out a small period of time each year for it?

Celebrate yourself and whatever you believe in everyday.

Hey Everybody

So I’m planning this huge event, and I need help. I’ve been pasting this around the internets:

I’ve got a plan, and in order for it to work, I need your help.

Let me cut right to the chase:

Spring of 2010 in Louisville, KY: Afropunk @ Art Sanctuary!!!

I have a fantastic venue lined up, Art Sanctuary/Alley Theater… they’re excited about helping create a holy-shit-kick-ass event along the lines of the Brooklyn event.

We’re going to show the AfroPunk film! We’re going to invite James Spooner down to talk about the movie. We’re going to book a couple of your favorite Afropunk bands as well as some local AP faves from our region. We’ll have art for sale, and live graffiti artists! Everything!!

Yeah, you heard me right. I’m planning on doing a smaller-scale Afropunk event here in Louisville, KY! Something for the AP’ers over here near Cincy, Louisville, Chi-town, Indy, Nashville & Memphis.

In order to make it happen, we need all kinds of help.

Foremost, we need sponsors for the event. If you own or know of any businesses who would like to get their name on our materials, shown on the screen, and get mad coverage in exchange for sponsorship of our event, that would be extremely helpful. Also if anyone has services to donate, such as web design & hosting, printing or anything else, that would be great too!

Right now we have the grand scheme of things posted up as several blog entries at:

http://afropunkatartsanctuary.tumblr.com

you can check out the marketing plan so far as well as what we’re aiming to do at the event.

If you have any questions, hit me up at oreobarbie@gmail.com!

Thanks so much for reading, and please pass on the word! Show the website to other people.
