Although I might argue that the enhanced rate is far more the result of societal structure than the school structure. And WfS is an interesting film, but it demonizes teachers who insist on being paid as skilled workers rather than doing it for love.
Well, I think there are lots of teachers who have earned a little demonization.
But I also believe that within the walls of the present public school system, awesome teachers don’t have the resources (not financial resources; systematic ones) to do right by kids.
Why can’t the school system just let teachers be great? (And fire the ones who suck)
