I'm a writer of aricles, poems & songs. Here's some cool stuff I wrote.
- Do you care about education?
- Do you care about Louisville?
- Do you care about guerrilla street art with a positive message?
- Do you care about me? ;)
If any of these apply to you, I encourage, implore, request and beg you (with the upmost dignity) to donate to one of my work’s most awesome projects called Chalk Talk.
and get this:
EVERY DOLLAR DONATED WILL BE MATCHED
So if you give $1, it’s like giving $2.
The most exciting part? We are halfway to our goal! You could help us meet it!
We are working with Power2Give!
Here’s some info!
Network Center for Community Change is hitting the streets armed with chalk, joining forces with students who are turning their aspirations into illustrations. Together we are creating positive educational messages on the sidewalks, transforming hangout spots into information and opportunity spots. NC3 Chalk Talk is a radically simple campaign that incorporates student leadership into a public art project!
With this campaign, NC3 will provide multiple 40-minute leadership workshops with students at three schools: West End School, Nativity Academy at St. Boniface, and The Academy @ Shawnee. After the workshop, students will hit the streets with chalk, writing or drawing their own educational messages designed to empower themselves, other students, and neighborhood residents. Photos of the images will be used in NC3’s social media campaign and will be the first part of building an archive of Chalk Talk images. We will also create a video to be shared with community partners so they can create their own Chalk Talk messages about education.
Budget:
Administrative and educational costs - $2,500
Water and snacks for students - $500
Photography, printing, and postage for postcards and archives - $750
Creation of three minute videos to share with the community - $1,250
Administrative costs for power2give - $682
Total - $5,682
NC3 Chalk Talk is already moving on social media! Learn more on our website at www.makechangetogether.org, our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/NC3Louisville) or by following the Network (@NC3Louisville) and the #NC3ChalkTalk tag on Twitter, Instagram, and Flickr.
