Rock Band 2 Announced for Sept Release!
I just wet myself. Great interview here.
IGN: As someone who has played a lot of RB with three friends at a party, it’s a real pain to get everyone into a band and ready to play. Are you streamlining the plug-and-play aspects?

Teasdale: One of our biggest focuses of the design team has been to make the game “party safe.” We’ve made navigation improvements to Rock Band 2 across the board based on the feedback we’ve been getting both from fans on forums as well as from our own personal experiences at Rock Band nights.

This is the only significant problem we’ve had with Rock Band parties. It’s great that they’re actively listening to feedback and improving it.
The interview confirms some other good news: downloaded songs will be cross-compatible between Rock Band and Rock Band 2.

4. Being bored does not mean you have to check your email.

5. Don’t only read websites related to subjects you know inside and out.

6. For every X feeds that you add to your reader, remove Y.

7. Don’t read email on your phone.

8. If an email upsets you, never respond immediately.

9. Think about the motivations behind the blogs you subscribe to.

I’m so incredibly guilty of 1, 2, 4, and somewhat 5, and absolutely 8. I pretty much just lose.

In my opinion, 1, 5, 7 and 8 are the only rules that everyone should follow, unless you have a job where you have to read emails on your phone… In which case, 7 is pretty important.

“Clinton Miceli, a 22 year old graphic designer, was killed this month after being struck by a car door that someone opened in his path. The Chicago Tribune reported that Clinton “struck the SUV’s door, flew off his bike and was run over by a passing vehicle that eventually stopped. He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead Monday night at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.” He was the second Chicago area cyclist killed in as many days, bringing the number of cyclists killed on the streets of Chicago this year to at least seven.
I live in Canberra, so I hardly ever have to ride close to parked cars — still, I can’t count the number of times I’ve come close to being hit by people opening their doors or pulling out of their parking spaces without looking. Be careful out there, kids.

This image, paired with the explination of the image pisses me off.

The intent of the person opening the door didn’t kill the designers friend, nor did the simple act of opening the door kill that person’s friend.

The individual who opened the door is probabaly a normal everyday person, and is guilt ridden by this statement. The person who should be chastised is the individual who ran the poor guy over.

And I’m irritated enough by this image to say that the person riding the bike could have stood to be a tad bit more observant. Doors don’t open at lightning speed, so if he was really paying attention, he could have avoided it.

Accidents are a two way street, and this ad just pissed me off. I’m sorry the guy died, but it is not soely the fault of the person who opened the door for the death of the biker.

I drive a car and I almost die everyday due to careless drivers.

It’s the nature of the beast.
