The origin of “Yes, this is dog.”

This is the most important internet news.

This must be what it would feel like if they had footage of Da Vinci painting the Mona Lisa.

Important developments.

things that are extremely important

  1. Looking both ways when crossing the street
  2. Dr. King’s I Had A Dream speech
  3. Verifying links used for a tumblr
  4. Following all your extra tumblrs
  5. Flossing regularly
  6. Getting regular mammograms after 35
  7. The Season Finale of last season’s Game of Thrones
  8. Eating lots of fruits & Vegetables

The 4th one is something we shouldn’t overlook in our daily lives.

I say this, because I just posted a kitten picture with a snarky caption to THE WRONG TUMBLR and had an OMGOMGOMG DELETE attack. I wouldn’t have noticed right away if I wasn’t also following said tumblr.

I am going back to sleep, before I schedule-post titties to the occupation blog by accident.

My solemn oath: If @BarackObama personally gets on Tumblr, I’ll put him on the Radar at least too many times.

In a study whose findings are somewhat intuitive but nonetheless significant for the representation of African Americans in Hollywood, researchers have found that movies with black directors are far more likely to have black characters who actually speak.

The study, “Black Characters in Popular Film: Is the Key to Diversifying Cinematic Content Held in the Hand of the Black Director?” was written by USC Annenberg’s Stacy L. Smith and project administrator Marc Choueiti and includes data from their ongoing, multiyear Media, Diversity and Social Change Initiative.

It examined the top 100 grossing films from 2007 to 2008, six of which were headed by five African-American directors. The remaining 94 films were directed by non-African-American directors.

In those 94 films, less than 11 percent of characters were black with speaking roles. In the Hollywood movies headed by African-American directors however, nearly 63 percent of the characters were black with speaking roles.

WHY SAVE PBS?
On Saturday, February 19th, the House of Representatives voted 235-189 to pass a continuing resolution that eliminates funding for public broadcasting. I put together this handy chart on why PBS is worth saving. Find out how you can fight back at 170 Million Americans.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am Creative Director for PBS KIDS but a life-long supporter/watcher of PBS ;)
UPDATE: The infographic is officially on the PBS site now: http://www.pbs.org/about/save-pbs/

As someone who was once a home-schooled kid with a daily dose of Public Broadcasting… as a well-informed American… as a lifelong fan of Reading Rainbow…
As a lover of Elmo, Bert and Ernie… as an adult who listens to Public Radio and attends Public Radio sponsored events… as someone who’s addresses has brought her intimate relationships with WHYY, WXPN, NJN, WFPK and KET… I’ve gotta tell you:
Public Broadcasting is IMPORTANT.

Comparing Democratic and Republican tax plans

I watched fox news this morning with the sound off at my part time gig. They discussed the differences between Obama’s planned cuts, the maintenance of the bush tax cuts, and what some other guy wanted to propose.
This is basically what their graphic said too, only they used words.
Although I understand the mentality of a poorer reublican, I don’t understand them wanting to support this in their structure. The man hates everyone equally.
Poor urban mcdonalds employee & poor rural mcdonalds employee are the same person on a sheet of paper.
