Someone (pretty cool) on my FB feed posted this. Curious to see what the interweb crew thought.
…to help me re-record my song, “We Party ‘cause We’re Alive,” so I can distribute it to music lovers at the Afro-Punk festival in Brooklyn on August 27th & 28th.
I need rockin’ guitar, drums and bass to complete this project. I would like to have all recordings completed by August 12th at the latest for mastering & whatnot.

Kim Thompson at Fat Cats, 2010
Kim Thompson is Beyonce’s drummer in her all girl band (and they’re mostly women of color! Color me jealous) and she is amazing.
She’s also drummed for Jay Z, Kanye, Meshell N’Degeocello, Tia Fuller and a bunch of other top-notch artists.
I’ve been listening to her performances, and she’s a hell of a jazz drummer, not to mention how rad she is in Beyonce’s AMAZING touring band, Sugar Mama, which is obviously comprised of world-class musicians.
