I'm Pam Newman.
I am awesome every day & you are too.
Follow my butt on Twitter!
I'm a writer of aricles, poems & songs. Here's some cool stuff I wrote.
I would marry a man who carried a head flashlight in his pocket, because that man is obviously a big ol’ nerd.
He probably also has board games in his trunk and found the place that sells adult-sized Underoos.
I presently have a jar of Jam, those hand-warmer thingies and a copy of a video game strategy guide for a game I don’t even own in my purse. I own (and regularly wear) shirts with hello kitty characters on them.
See? Perfect match.
Y’all didn’t realize how deeply embedded nerd is all up in my bone marrow, did you?
Didn’t even think of that but this is marvelous. And true.
actually 514 is too many.
The number is actually more like 499.
2012 + 46 = 258 aprox years since 45bc
1967 / 4 = 514.5, leap years but I’m cutting it down to 514 because we don’t have 1/2 years. That’s where their calculation stopped.
Not every centenial year is treated as a leap year. Only centenial years divisible by 400 are treated as leap years, because the actual time it takes the earth to spin around the sun is something like 365 days 5 hours and some minutes/seconds, so to make up for the minutes and seconds, an extra day is added every 400 years.
So although 2000 was a leap year, 1900 was not.
So if we count all the leap years between 45bc (the year 46bc, according to encyclopedia britanica, but who reads actual encyclopedias anymore?) that would occur on the 5 centneial years divisible by 4, between then and today:
400, 800, 1200, 1600, 2000
That means of the 20 centneial years between 45bc and today, 15 of them were not leap years.
That actually subtracts 15 additional leap years to our initial figure of 514, resulting in 499.
That’s still not at all taking into consideration that the west has also changed the gregorian calendar since the year 46bc.
So in like the 1500s the calendar changed again, and I don’t know so much about that but you can read about it on wikipedia or something.
Also, western leap years also used to involve doubilng feburary 24th in the middle ages, resulting in no change in the actual calendar!
Anyway, there is a lot to be said about western calendars and all that shit, but this image was slightly misleading and I had to say something.
And here are some other refrences:
Bubble Bobble Theme, Acapella
It’s credited to “DJ ViRt” I’m not sure if that’s factual, but the Bubble Bobble theme was written by Peter Clarke.
The fact that you know about M makes me adore you more. Jubilee is my spirit animal, and I’ll never forgive them for killing Synch: he had such potential to be an amazingly powerful mutant.
Okay Synch? Awesome. AWESOME. I wish he had been included in Marvel Vs Capcom 2, because fuck, can you even IMAGINE the kind of shit you could use him for as an assist??? But no, they give us fucking Marrow. Who gives a shit about Marrow?
Honestly, the entire Generation X team was my shit. It was perfect at a time when I needed to be reading comics, you know?
Also? M was a bitch, but really, her whole family was fucked up. Complex storylines make for the most interesting characters.
Today is the last day of Black History Month and I wanted to show you an awesome video celebrating some great female characters.
And this is what happened, Today, in Black History.
The video is awesome… It omits Monet St. Croix from Generation X (Who is actually twins), though!
I will post about her. She’s fucking awesome.
OMFG I LOVED THIS MOVIE!
Saw this in the theater too.
Everything Star Trek: TNG was my SHIT. I still watch the reruns.
I think I had a crush on everyone:
Jeordi (which was encouraged by Reading Rainbow)
Wesely Crusher (even though everyone thought he was a bitch character, Will Wheaton was/is HOT)
DATA (It’s kind of unreasonable how much of a crush I had on his character. An android may or may not have helped me, “Become a woman,” to paraphrase Kanye)
I love the future. It’s so sexual.
The Fifth Element
I LOVE THIS MOVIE TOO. A LOT.
CHRIS TUCKER! A BLUE OPERA SINGER! BRUCE WILLIS! MILLA JOVOVICH IN A BODY-THONG! LOVE SAVES THE WORLD!
It’s everything I could possibly ask for.
This is totally in my top 10 favorite movies, in the same company as Casablanca, Amelie and Kill Bill Volume I.
I <3 you Milla Jovovich.
THIS MOVIE WAS SO GOOD.
I saw this in the theater. I had dreams about this movie.
This hoodie is rather awesome! It’s comfy and is also a great
awkward conversation starter. I got it as a gift maybe 5 years ago.
Google Shopping shows some other variations of the same phrase on different clothes, though.
This tee-shirt looks pretty cute:
