LOLing rull hard at a person stating “The diversity” as their favorite thing about Louisville, Kentucky.
Wikipedia on Louisville:
The 2005–2007 population estimate was 74.8% White (71.7% non-Hispanic White alone), 22.2% Black or African American, 0.6% American Indian and Alaska Native, 2.0% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, 1.4% from some other race and 1.6% from two or more races. 2.9% of the total population were Hispanic or Latino (of any race).
That’s not particularly diverse.
The Supreme Court just announced a 5-4 decision striking down Montana’s ban on corporate money in elections. The decision was handed down without hearing oral argument on the case, meaning that the five conservative justices were not even open to hearing arguments that their election-buying decision in Citizens United might have been wrongly decided.
The justices also handed down a 5-4 decision by Justice Kagan holding that “the Eighth Amendment forbids a scheme of life in prison without possibility of parole for juveniles.” Justice Kennedy, a conservative who sometimes crosses over in criminal justice and gay rights cases, provided the fifth vote.
Dear Los Angeles,
Why not donate 10 or 20 bucks to keep houses off of Cahuenga Peak? Let’s not look up at the Hollywood sign and see mansions. The preservation org has raised 11 million so far and has only TWO WEEKS left to raise the remaining 1.5 million needed to save the land.
If you can’t give $10 or $20, give $5.
Or you could do something IMPORTANT and stop being douchebag hipsters who don’t like progress and are blind to the real perils of your city: Poverty, Illiteracy and hunger.
Donate to something worthwhile in your city los angelans.
